Charging the Battery

On delivery, the rechargeable battery is empty and it must be charged

fi

 rst.

 Please note:

If the rechargeable battery is low, the surveillance camera cannot be turned on (or it
switches off again immediately).

To recharge the rechargeable battery, connect the mini USB connector (6) to a free
USB port, on a computer or USB hub, using the USB cable enclosed. You can also use a
plug-in wall plug transformer with USB socket.
With a completely empty rechargeable battery, the charging procedure lasts approximately 2
hours. The maximum charging current is 300mA.

If you connect the surveillance camera to a PC for recharging, the microSD card slot
is recognised (as a conventional USB stick or memory card reader).

Inserting/Removing the Memory Card

Video can be recorded, if a microSD/microSDHC memory card (max 16GByte) is
inserted into the slot (8). Pay attention to the correct orientation of the card and do
not use any force.

•  Insert the memory card into the slot, until it locks into place.
•   To remove the memory card, press it a little into the slot using a

fi

 ngernail, so the locking

mechanism unlocks. Then, a spring pushes the card slightly out of the slot, so the memory
card can be removed easily.

On/Off Switch

First, insert the memory card as described above.

•   Hold the down button (1) for about one second in order to turn on the surveillance camera.

The LED (3) will light up.

•   To switch off,

fi

rst stop any recording in progress. Press and hold the button (1) for about 3

seconds, and then release it. The LED (3) will go off.

If you do not press any button for some time the surveillance camera turns off auto-
matically to save power.

Taking a picture

•  Turn on the surveillance camera, as described above.
•  Brie

fl

y press the button (2). The LED will go off brie

fl

y and will then light permanently again.

The photo is saved to the memory card.

Starting/Ending Video Recording

•  Turn on the surveillance camera, as described above.
•   In order to start a video recording keep the button (2) impressed for about 3 seconds. The

LED will quickly

fl

ash 3x and go off again. Recording is active.

•   To terminate the recording, press the button (2) brie

fl

y again. The LED (3) will light up perma-

nently again.

•   You can now start a new recording or turn off the surveillance camera. To save power, the

surveillance camera turns off automatically after about 30 seconds, if no recording is in
progress and no button is pressed.

If the memory card is full, the recording will stop automatically. The same applies if
the rechargeable battery of the surveillance camera is low.

Setting the Time and Date

The time and date are displayed automatically in the video recording or on the picture.
The surveillance camera does not have buttons or a display for the settings, instead a short text

fi

le has to be saved to the root directory of the microSD card.

When the surveillance camera is switched on, this text

fi

le is read and the time and the date are

set. The text

fi

 le is then deleted automatically.

Proceed as follows:

•  Create a text

fi

le named “TAG.TXT” using a text editor.

•   In the text

fi

le, there must be 3 lines of text with the following information (pay attention to the

exact spelling):

The

fi

rst line denotes the information to follow. In the second line, there are year, month and

the date, in the third line there are the hours, minutes and seconds.

•  Save the text

fi

le to the root directory of the microSD card.
