Safety Instructions
Read the complete operating manual carefully before using the product, as it
contains important information about the proper installation and operation.
The warranty will be void in the event of damage caused by failure to observe
these safety instructions! We do not assume any liability for any resulting
damage!
We shall not accept liability for damage to property or personal injury caused
by incorrect handling or non-compliance with the safety instructions! The
warranty will be void in such cases!
• Unauthorised conversion and/or modi
fi
cation of the product is not allowed for
safety and approval reasons (CE).
• The product is not a toy and does not belong in the hands of children! There is
danger of a life-threatening electric shock!
Install and use the product out of the reach of children.
• The product may be operated only on the mains voltage (see section “Technical
Data”). Never try to operate the product at another voltage, as this will cause its
destruction.
Connect the product via the mains plug to a proper mains socket of the public grid
only.
• The mains socket at which the mains cable is connected must be easily acces-
sible. During installation, all poles must be disconnected from the mains voltage
(e.g. via RCD).
• Do not pull the power plug from the mains socket by pulling on the cable.
• The product is constructed according to Protection Class II.
• This product is to be installed and used only in dry conditions indoors. The product
must not get damp or wet as this may damage it; danger of a fatal electric shock!
• Do not use this product in rooms or under adverse environmental conditions where
combustible gases, vapours or dust are or where they may be present! There is a
risk of explosion!
• The product must not be exposed to extreme temperatures, strong vibrations or
heavy mechanical stress.
• Never overload the product. Do not connect any lamp with a total output higher
than the indicated nominal load (see imprint on the product or see chapter “Techni-
cal Data” at the end of these operating instructions).
• The transformer provides an output voltage of 12 V/AC (alternating voltage). Do
not connect light bulbs that are not suitable for this voltage.
• Never operate the transformer with a load that is too low. Depending on the func-
tional principle, this might lead to a slightly increased output voltage, which re-
duces the service life of the halogen lamp connected.
• Never short-circuit the output of the transformer.
• Never connect the outputs of multiple transformers to each other.
• Only use connection cables that are intended for the high currents. Connecting
cables with a cross section that is too low may cause
fi
re!
• If it can be assumed that safe operation is no longer possible, the device must be
turned off and precautions must be taken to ensure that it is not used unintention-
ally.
If you detect any damage, do not operate the product; do not connect it to the
mains voltage!
It can be assumed that safe operation is no longer possible if:
- the product shows visible signs of damage
- the product does not work at all or works poorly (where there is
fl
ickering light,
leaking smoke or a smell of burning, audible crackling noises, or discolouration
of the product or to adjacent surfaces)
- the product was stored under unfavourable conditions
- it was exposed to heavy loads during transport
• If you detect any damage while the product is in use (e.g. damaged transformer or
mains cable), do not touch the product. There is a risk of a life-threatening electric
shock!
First, switch off the mains socket to which the product is connected (switch off at
the corresponding circuit breaker or remove the safety fuse, then switch off the
earth leakage circuit breaker).
Only after this should you remove the mains plug from the mains socket.
Do not use the product any longer; rather, take it to a specialised workshop or
dispose of it in an environmentally friendly manner
• Do not repair a damaged cable (e.g. with insulating tape)! There is a life-threaten-
ing hazard through an electric shock!
• Do not leave packaging material carelessly lying around, since it could become a
dangerous plaything for children.
• In commercial institutions, the accident prevention regulations of the Employer’s
Liability Insurance Association for Electrical Systems and Operating Facilities are
to be observed!
• If you have any questions that are not answered in this manual, please contact our
technical service or another specialist.
