8. Setup
a) Inserting/replacing the batteries
Before using the device for the first time, you need to insert the batteries supplied into the meter.
Proceed as follows:
•
Open the battery compartment on the upper side, by first unscrewing both screws
(7)
with
the hex key supplied and then removing the battery compartment cover
(8)
.
• Insert four AAA/Micro batteries, with correct polarity (observe po and negative/-),
into the battery compartment. Small symbols on the battery compartment show the correct
location of the batteries when inserting.
•
Replace the battery compartment cover
(8)
and screw it tightly into place. When doing this,
ensure that the sealing ring for the battery compartment cover fits correctly.
• The battery needs to be replaced, if the display contrast becomes faint or the device no
longer switches on. When battery power is low, the symbol for status display of the bat-
tery
(B)
will also flash.
