Troubleshooting
In purchasing the radio-controlled jumbo wall clock, you have acquired a product with state of the art design
that is operationally reliable.
Nevertheless, problems or faults may occur.
Which is why we would like to describe here how to solve any problems:
The clock does not synchronise or only has temporary reception:
• The distance to the DCF transmitter is too great or restricted by geographical conditions.
• Relocate the product, switch off interfering devices such as TV sets, computers or microwave ovens.
• Avoid a location in the vicinity of large metal surfaces, which may shield the radio signals. Windows with a
vapour deposited metal layer can also in
fl
uence the signal reception.
• Place the clock near a window for synchronisation, and align the front or back side in the direction of
Frankfurt (Germany).
• Leave the clock switched on over night to avoid atmospheric interference.
The displayed temperatures are not correct:
• The clock is exposed to direct sunlight.
• The clock is located too close to a heat source (heater, electronic device, etc.)
Maintenance and Care
Apart from replacing the battery, the device requires no maintenance. Only clean the exterior of the device
with a soft, dry cloth or a small brush.
Never use caustic cleaning agents or chemical solutions, as they could damage the surface of the case.
Do not press on the sensitive display surface.
Disposal
a) Product
Electronic devices are recyclable waste materials and must not be disposed of in the household
waste!
Please dispose of the product, when it is no longer of use, according to the current statutory
requirements.
Remove any inserted battery and dispose of it separately from the product.
b) Batteries and Rechargeable Batteries
As the end user, you are required by law (Battery Ordinance) to return all used batteries/
rechargeable batteries; disposal of them in the household waste is prohibited!
Contaminated batteries/rechargeable batteries are labelled with these symbols to indicate
that disposal in the household waste is forbidden. The symbols for the relevant heavy metals
are: Cd=Cadmium, Hg=Mercury, Pb=Lead (marking can be seen on the battery/rechargeable
battery, e.g., underneath the rubbish bin symbol shown on the left).

Setting the Time Manually
If the DCF signal cannot be received, the time must be set manually.

If you do not press any buttons during the setting for more than 1 minute, the setting mode will
automatically close.
• Press the CLOCK/ZONE (9) button, while the normal time is displayed, and keep it pressed until the
weekday display (3) blinks.
• Set the language for the weekday display using the b/WEEK (11) and -/DCF Reception (12).
• Press the CLOCK/ZONE button (9) again. The year indicator blinks.
• Set the year display using the b/WEEK (11) and -/DCF Reception (12).
• Press the CLOCK/ZONE button (9) again.
• Now set the following values as described above:
Month > Date > Hours > Minutes > 12/24-h format > Time zone > Current weather conditions
• Press the CLOCK/ZONE (9) button again to save the settings.

The languages available for the weekday display are:
German (GE), English (EN), Italian (IT), French (FR), Dutch (DU) and Spanish (ES).
The time zone setting needs only to be adjusted if the time zone differs from the DCF time zone.
Otherwise, leave the time zone at the value 00.
The display for the weather conditions is at
fi
rst very imprecise, since this display is calculated
from the trend of the measured barometric data. After a few days, the display becomes more
reliable. The setting the current weather conditions enables a faster adjustment to the correct
weather trend.
Alarm function
Programming the alarm time
• Press and hold the ALARM button (10) until the alarm time blinks in the display.
• Set the hour display for the alarm time using the b/WEEK (11) and -/DCF Reception (12).
• Press the ALARM button (10) again. The minute display blinks.
• Set the minute display for the alarm time using the b/WEEK (11) and -/DCF Reception (12).
• Press the ALARM button (10) again to save the setting.
Activating the alarm function

• Press the +/WEEK button (11), while the alarm time is shown in the display, to activate the desired alarm
function:
Signal symbol > Alarm function activated
Signal symbol with “Zz” > Alarm function with alarm repetition activated
No symbol > Alarm function deactivated
• When the alarm goes off, press any button to switch off the alarm tone.
• To interrupt the alarm tone using the snooze function, press the SNOOZE button (14). The alarm tone will
resume after 5 minutes.
• To turn off the alarm tone entirely when the snooze function is activated, press any button except SNOOZE
(14).
Displaying the calendar week

y press the /WEEK (11), to switch between the weekday display (3) and the display for the
calendar week.
Weather trend display
• The weather trend display (2) shows the weather to be expected during the next 12 to 24 hours.
• This display is based on the trend of the barometric measurements over the last few hours.
• This type of weather forecasting is about 70-80% reliable. A more exact forecast is unfortunately not pos-
sible due to the design.
Barometer display
• The barometer display (7) shows the changes in barometric pressure during the last 18 hours.
• These measurements are the basis for the weather trend display (2).
Thermometer display
• The clock is equipped with a thermometer that shows the room temperature in the temperature display (6).

Moon phase display
• The moon phase display (5) shows the current phase of the moon.
• This display is automatic, based on the set date.
Setting the contrast in the display
If the display is not easily readable in its standing or mounted location, the display contrast can be adjusted
accordingly.
• Press and hold the button C/F / LCD CONTRAST (13), until a two-digit number appears in the display.
• Set the display contrast, using the b/WEEK (11) and -/DCF Reception (12).
• Press the button C/F / LCD CONTRAST (13) again, to save the adjusted value.
