Profile Name :
The Profile Name allows the user to set the identifier for the PC on
the wireless network. User is advise to keep the setting as Default.
Network Name :
Type in the
Network Name
(also known as SSID) identify the
network you like to join. Alternatively, you can scan existing
network in your area by
Rescan
(under the Status Tab) to allow
automatic scanning of all available networks. Note: The
Network
Name
is case sensitive. Ensure your
Network Name
is exactly the
same as your access point’s network name.
Network Type :
This putdown option allow user to specify the network he/she like
to operate in such as an
Access Point, Peer to Peer
accordingly.
Note:
For Windows XP, the above networking
configuration of WL54G is advisable to be
done in Windows XP. (See Chapter 6 Wireless
Network Configuration in Windows XP) The
PRISM Wireless Settings program can still be
used for diagnostics.
