Reference Guide

Troubleshooting

I connected my 
iPAQ Pocket PC 
before installing 
Microsoft 
ActiveSync 3.5.

Remove the USB or serial cable from your computer.

If you have Windows 98, 2000, or NT 4.0, uninstall the USB 
or the serial device record.

Install Microsoft ActiveSync 3.5.

Microsoft 
ActiveSync 3.5 
cannot locate 
my iPAQ 
Pocket PC 
when I 
synchronize.

Make sure your connection is secure.

Make sure the screen is on.

Make sure the battery is charged.

Remove your iPAQ Pocket PC from the cradle or cable, 
press the 

Power

 button, then put it back in the cradle or 

connect it to the cable.

Insert the stylus into the 

Unit Reset Switch,

 then press the 

switch for one second.

I want to travel 
with my iPAQ 
Pocket PC.

Back up your information.

Take a copy of your backup with you on a CompactFlash 
memory card.

Disconnect all external devices.

Take the AC adapter with you.

Keep your iPAQ Pocket PC in a protective case and take it 
with your carry-on luggage.

I want to travel 
internationally 
with my iPAQ 
Pocket PC.

Follow the instructions in “I want to travel with my iPAQ 
Pocket PC.”

Make sure you have the modem, cable, and plug adapter 
appropriate for the country you are visiting.

I want to ship

Back up your information.

Disconnect all external devices.

Pack your iPAQ Pocket PC and all external devices in 
protective packaging.
