CHAPTER
4
Care and Handling
The Quick-20 is designed to be a robust, durable headset suitable for use in
real-world environments. To keep your Quick-20 functioning optimally, take
note of the following items:
•
Avoid excessively bending the legs or earband
- The Quick-20 relies
on the flexibility of the leg material to deflect and conform across the
many variations in head shapes. Do not grab and deliberately bend the
legs or ear bands beyond the range necessary to apply the system on a
subject.
•
Never connect the Quick-20 to a standard USB port
- The mi-
croUSB port on the Quick-20 is designed to work only with Cognionics
accessories, which provide electrical isolation to protect the headset and
subject from electrical shock. Directly connecting the Quick-20 to a
PC, without the special isolation dongle, will not work. Connecting the
Quick-20 to a USB port will not recharge the batteries. Misuse of the
USB port may result in damage to the headset.
•
Do not immerse the headset in a liquid
- When cleaning the system
with isopropyl or sanitizer, use just enough liquid to moisten the brush.
Avoid dispensing liquid into the sensor pods or any other opening in the
headset to prevent damage to the headset
’
s electronics.
•
Do not compress the legs of the headset
- Use the supplied carrying
case to store and ship the Quick-20. Avoid placing the Quick-20 in boxes
