After bead lubrication, position the tire and
wheel for demounting by locating the valve hole or
stem in front of the duckhead
®
(figure 33).

Next, position the L.H. helper opposite the duck-
head and apply a force to the tire that will allow the
bead to slide into the drop center of the rim as the
bead is lifted onto the duckhead (figure 33).

Next, insert the lift tool into the tire, rim inter-
section, raise the (R.H. helper) taper roller from the tire
sidewall and lift the bead carefully onto the right side of
the duckhead (figure 34).

Next, raise the (R.H. helper) from the tire side-
wall and move to the stored position. Next, jog the
machine rotation to start the upper bead removal (fig-
ure 35), continue rotation until the upper bead is com-
pletely removed from the rim.

Once the upper bead is removed, review the
wheel for strap-on type sensors. Position the plastic
disks under the lower sidewalls and raise the lower
sidewall of the tire to the top of the drop center of the
rim (figure 36).

With the tire in the up position, insert the lift bar
and raise the lower bead onto the duckhead (figure 37).

Lower the lift disk on each side and move them
away from the tire (figure 37).
18.
Depress the rotation pedal and dismount the
lower tire bead from the rim (figure 37).
