– Wait until the motor has reached its maximum
speed.
– Guide the machine at an even slow speed (walk-
ing pace) in a straight line wherever possible.
Important information
• For an improved result, and to lengthen the
machine’s working life, the lawn should be cut as
short as possible.
• Staying for too long in one place can damage the
lawn surface.
Cleaning and maintenance
Cleaning and maintenance overview
Prior to every start
Cleaning the machine
The machine should be cleaned immediately after
each use. Grass residue which dries in place is very
hard, and can be removed only with difficulty.
– Empty the collecting sack.
– Remove grass residue with a brush and a plastic
scraper if necessary (do not use sharp equip-
ment).
– Remove deposits from the wheels.
– Wipe the machine with a slightly damp cloth
– Never clean with water or a high pressure jet.
Storing, transport
Storing
– Store the machine where it is dry and well venti-
lated.
Transport
– If shipping, use the original packaging wherever
possible.
DANGER! Danger of injury!
Before start-
ing work, always check the ground and
remove all objects which could be thrown
by the machine.
DANGER! Danger of injury!
Never release
the steering bar while working.
Note:
The shorter the lawn has been cut,
the better it can be de-thatched/aerated.
DANGER! Danger of injury!
–Always keep
the extension cable away from the
machine.
– Wherever possible, work across the
slope.
– Never start the machine on a solid sur-
face.
– If the working roller becomes blocked
by a solid object, release the start-up
lever immediately.
– If a foreign body was picked up, check
the machine and have it repaired if nec-
essary.
DANGER! Danger of injury!
Prior to any
maintenance and/or cleaning:
– Switch the machine off.
– Pull out the plug.
WARNING! Danger of injury!
The work-
ing roller runs on!
– Never turn the machine over, or lift or
carry it when the motor is running.
– Prior to any maintenance and/or clean-
ing, wait until the machine has come to
a stop.
WARNING! Danger of injury!
Perform
only the maintenance steps described here.
Have all other work, in particular motor
maintenance and repairs, conducted by a
trained technician. Improperly performed
work may cause damage to the machine
and may result in injury.
What?
How?
Check mains plug and ca-
ble for damage.
Inspect visually and, if
necessary, have the
parts replaced by a
trained electrician.
Check all screwed con-
nections and tighten them
if necessary.
Remove all grass and
moss from the ventilation
slits of the motor.
Remove them with a vac-
uum cleaner or a brush.
DANGER! Attention, danger of injury!
Store the machine in such a way that it can-
not be started by unauthorised people and
that it is inaccessible to children.
Ensure that no-one can be injured by the
machine when stationary.
NOTICE! Risk of machine damage!
Do
not store the machine in damp areas with-
out protection.
