ENGINE OIL - GASOLINE VEHICLE
Even though the oil warning light on the dash should warn you if your oil is getting low, engine oil level
should be checked monthly (See Figure 19).

• ENGINE MUST BE IN LEVEL POSITION. Remove oil level dipstick from the oil filler tube and
wipe oil from it with a clean cloth or paper towel. Check oil by inserting the dipstick fully into oil
filler tube and immediately removing it again. If oil level is at or below ADD mark on gauge, add
oil until level is between ADD and FULL (safe level). DO NOT OVERFILL! Reinsert dipstick into
oil filler tube.

• GASOLINE - FLAMMABLE - EXPLOSIVE - DO NOT SMOKE. KEEP SPARKS AND FLAMES
AWAY FROM THE AREA OF THE VEHICLE.
• SERVICE OR REPAIR IN A WELL VENTILATED AREA ONLY.
• NEVER POUR GASOLINE INTO GAS TANK WHILE THE ENGINE IS HOT OR RUNNING.
• TO AVOID ELECTRIC ARC CAUSED BY STATIC ELECTRICITY, THE FUEL STORAGE/PUMP-
ING DEVICE MUST BE GROUNDED. IF THE PUMP IS NOT GROUNDED, THE VEHICLE
MUST BE GROUNDED TO THE PUMP BEFORE AND DURING THE FUELING OPERATION.
• IF THE VEHICLE HAS AN ALL WEATHER ENCLOSURE INSTALLED, THE GAS TANK MUST
BE PROPERLY VENTED (AS SHOWN IN FIGURE 20).
• TO AVOID THE POSSIBILITY OF FIRE, CLEAN UP ANY SPILLED GASOLINE BEFORE
OPERATING VEHICLE.

• GASOLINE QUALITY AND CHEMICAL ADDITIVES CAN AFFECT VEHICLE PERFORMANCE.
WE DO NOT RECOMMEND GASOLINES THAT ARE BLENDED WITH ALCOHOL. AVOID
USING THESE FUELS WHENEVER POSSIBLE. AVOID THE USE OF OXYGENATED FUELS
WHENEVER POSSIBLE. VEHICLES THAT WILL BE STORED FOR EXTENDED PERIODS
SHOULD BE PREPARED FOR STORAGE AS OUTLINED IN THIS OWNER’S MANUAL.
