•
Make sure the gas hose is not kinked or twisted and does not lie
against hot and/or sharp surfaces.
•
With the small Clifton models route the gas hose through one of
the cut-outs on the bottom side of the Clifton. To avoid tripping
over the gas hose, we strongly recommend that you cover it with
a sill profile. This sill is an accessory that you can buy at your
supplier.
•
Place the lava stones, without grit, gently around the burner.
Make sure the lava stones are level with the burner without
completely covering it. So do not invert the bag with lava stones
in the Clifton and then spread.
•
If you use the ceramic logs (is accessory) in your Clifton, place
the first block in the middle of the burner. Stack the other logs in
a campfire form onto the first block. Please use a maximum of
one set (4 pieces) per Clifton. Make sure you do not block the
burner as this will cause the fire not or difficult to ignite and there
will be no beautiful flames.
•
Insert the supplied AAA battery into the electric igniter. This is
located at the front of the Clifton on the control panel. Carefully
turn the plastic ring to the left, insert the battery with the "plus"
directed outward and rotate the plastic ring back again. Make
sure the igniter is working by pressing it, when you hear a
click/click sound the igniter works properly.
Check for gas leaks
:
•
Test the gas hose and connections for leaks each time you
connect a gas cylinder
•
Make sure that the control knob on the Clifton is in the "Off"
position and slowly open the gas valve on the gas cylinder.
•
Use soapy water, a mixture of half detergent and half water, to
detect possible leaks. Never use a lighter or the like in order to
detect gas leaks.
