7 Maintenance
→ Set up a security maintenance program and ensure that
it is maintained. This program must ensure compliance
with regulations, inspection, and maintenance for all life
stages of the nutrunner control.
→ Test the earth fault protector in the time interval according
to locally applicable regulations (DGUV Vorshrift 3 in
Germany).

nutrunner control.

General Safety Instructions Electric Tools

Read all safety notes and instructions.
Any failure to follow the safety notes and
instructions can cause electric shock, fire
and/or serious injury.

Keep all safety notes and instructions for future reference.
The term “electric tool” used in these safety instructions
refers to an electrically mains-powered tool (with mains
cable) and also to battery-operated electrical tools (without
a power cable).
1 Safety at Work
a)
Keep your working area clean and well lit.
Untidiness
and/or unlit working areas can cause accidents.
b)
Never work with your electric tool in an
explosive environment, i.e. one containing
combustible fluids, gases or dust.
Electric
tools create sparks that can ignite that dust
and/or that vapour.
c)
Keep children and other people at a distance when
using the electric tool.
If distracted, you may lose
control of the device.
2 Electrical safety
a) The power connector on your electrically powered
tool must fit the socket or receptacle. Do not modify
the connector in any way. Never use an adapter
connector together with grounded electric tools.
Unmodified connectors and appropriate receptacles/
sockets reduce the risk of electric shock.
b) Avoid physical contact with grounded surfaces such
as pipework, radiators, cookers and refrigerators.
There is a higher risk of electric shock if your own body
is grounded.
c) Keep electric tools away from rain and damp.
The
ingress of water in an electric tool increases the risk of
electric shock.
d) Do not use the cable incorrectly, i.e. to carry the
electric tool, hang it up or to pull the connector out
of its socket/receptacle. Keep the cable away from
heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts.
Damaged or
tangled cables increase the risk of electric shock.
e) If you are working in the open air with an electric
tool, always use extension leads that are suitable for
outside use.
The use of an extension cable suitable for
outside use reduces the risk of electric shock.
f) If there is no way to avoid operating an electric tool
in a damp or humid environment, use a Residual
Current protective Device.
The use of a Residual Cur-
rent protective Device reduces the risk of electric shock.
3 Safety of persons
a) Exercise caution, pay attention to what you are doing
and act reasonably at all times when working with an
electric tool. Never use an electric tool while under
the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication.
One
moment of inattentiveness in the use of an electric tool
can cause serious injuries.
b)
Wear your personal protective equipment
(PPE) and always wear safety goggles.
Wearing personal protective equipment such
as a dust mask, non-slip safety shoes, a
helmet or ear defenders can, depending on
the type and use of the electric tool, help to
reduce the risk of injury.
c) Avoid accidental start-ups. Ensure that the electric
tool is switched off before connecting it to the
mains power supply or to a battery, picking it up or
carrying it.
Accidents can occur if you have your finger
on the switch, and/or if the device is switched on and/or
connected to the mains power supply.
d) Remove setting tools or wrenches before switching
on an electric tool.
Injuries can occur if a tool or wrench
is left in place in a rotating item of equipment.
e) Avoid abnormal or unusual physical postures. Make
sure you have a firm stance and maintain your
balance at all times.
That means you are better able to
control your electric tool in unexpected situations.
f)
Wear appropriate clothing. Never wear
loose clothing or jewellery. Keep hair,
clothing and gloves well away from
moving parts.
Loose clothing, jewellery or
long hair can get snagged on moving parts.
g) If dust extrator and collection equipment can be
mounted, ensure that these are connected up and
are used correctly.
Use of a dust extractor can reduce
the risks associated with dust.
4 Use and handling of an electric tool
a) Never overload the device. Use the right electric tool
for your work.
Using the correct electric tool enables
you to work better and more safety within the specified
performance range.
