Use blue chalk in the chalk line to
mark fastener locations on the panels
if needed. Do not use red chalk!
Install Corrugated Panels
INSTALL THE UPPER ROOF PANELS
ATTENTION:
Tek screws (#FA4484B) and neo-bonded washers
(#102921B) are used to secure all corrugated panels to the purlins
and side runs of hat channel.
Take two (2) 104709 closure strips and remove one (1) rib from
1.
each using a scissors or utility knife. Do not remove the flat,
valley section of the strip. Remove only one raised section for
each strip. See Fig. A.
Cut the length of one 50" x 146" panel to 128". Test panel
2.
length by setting it on the frame in the position shown below.
Panel should overhang lower purlin 6" or so.
Take one roll of 111983 adhesive weather stripping, cut a 110"
3.
piece of stripping from the roll, and attach it to the underside of
the first rib of the 128" panel from Step 2. This is the side of the
panel facing the inside of the greenhouse when installed. Align
one end of the weather stripping with one end of the panel.
This is now the top of the panel.
With assistance, set the panel on the frame with the top placed
4.
over the installed corner cap. Position the panel edge with the
weather stripping on the end cap attached to the top of the end
rafter.
Align the top of the panel with the upper end of the end
rafter. See diagram on the next page
.
Next, align the
5.
center of the first corrugated rib
–this is the rib
with the weather stripping–with the center of the end rafter (B).
Using a Tek screw and washer, secure the panel to the end
6.
cap to hold in position. Set this first screw 12” down from the
top end of the panel so it will not interfere with the installation
of the corrugated ridge cap (106478). Install the next screw
and washer 12” from the first.
All screws along the outer edge
are spaced at 12” on-center
.
Take 2 closure strips (Step 1) and place one under the first
7.
panel near the top and the other between the first purlin run
and the panel. See Diagram C and the diagram on the next
page–lower left corner. Start the flat section of the strip against
the adhesive weather stripping.

Carefully secure the panel to the frame
8.
using Tek screws and washers. Install
all fasteners for the roof panel through
the top of ribs, down through the
closure strip, and into the purlin. Do not
overtighten. Use a chalk line to mark
fastener locations if needed.
Use blue
chalk so it will not stain the panels.
NOTE:
Do not secure the inside rib
where the next panel overlaps until that
panel is installed. Allow the lower edge
of the upper panel to remain free so it
can be lifted to overlap the lower panel
when it is installed.
