Make sure that the mains cord does not get pinched, kinked or laid over sharp edges
and does not come into contact with hot surfaces.
■
Never immerse the device, the mains cord and the mains plug in water or other liq-
uids and make sure that there is no risk of them falling in water or getting wet.
■
If the device falls in water or if it is in
fi
ltrated by a liquid (this does not include the water
tank), immediately disconnect the power supply. Never attempt to pull the device out
of the water when it is connected to the mains supply! Before using the device again,
have it checked by a quali
fi
ed workshop.
■
Never touch the device, the mains cord and the mains plug with wet hands when
these components are connected to the mains supply.

Never go past the maximum level to prevent over
fl
owing. Use distilled water to
fi
ll
the device.
■
The steam must not be directed towards the mains cord or parts containing electrical
components (e.g. oven interiors, fridges, switches and lights, microwave ovens).
■
Turn the device off and pull the mains plug out of the socket
– if a fault occurs during operation,
– before it is cleaned or
– before a storm.
■
Only use the device in enclosed areas.
■
Do not operate the device in rooms with very high humidity.
Fire hazard
■
Do not use the device in rooms containing easily
fl
ammable dust or toxic and explo-
sive vapours.
■
Do not operate the device near
fl
ammable material.
■
Keep the cords away from parts of the device that may become hot during use.
■
Attention
fi
re damage! Never iron one area for an excessive amount of time.
■
Always set the device on the support foot or the storage tray and not on the soleplate,
even during short periods of inactivity. Pull the mains plug in the event of prolonged
periods of inactivity.
■
Immediately after ironing, set down the device, which is still hot, at a minimum dis-
tance of 15 cm from walls, furniture and other objects.
Avoiding damage to materials, property and the device
■
Only iron on a stable, level, heat and moisture resistant base. We recommend using
a commercially-available ironing board.
■
Do not iron across zippers, rivets, buckles etc. to avoid scratches on the coating of
the soleplate.
■
Never iron on bases made of glass or plastic.
■
Never cover the steam nozzles and do not insert any objects in them.
■
Only activate the steam if the water tank is
fi
lled with water; otherwise, the water
pump can be damaged and the life span of the device can be affected.
■
Always pull on the mains plug and never on the mains cord when disconnecting the
device from the power supply.
■
Never wind the mains cord around the device. Never pull or carry the device by the
mains cord. There is a danger of breaking the cord.
