Operation
Note:
The jack may not be fully extended when it is not under load.
1. Place the jack on a hard, flat and appropriate surface (check your vehicle’s owner’s
manual if you are unsure). Use a rubber jack pad when necessary to prevent
damage to the vehicle.
2. Plug the jack into your vehicle’s 12 V socket. Make sure that the lead is not
pinched by the vehicle’s door.
3. The cable has an in-line switch used for controlling the jack. When the plug is
properly connected the power switch’s LED will be lit. Press the power switch
towards
U
to raise or towards
D
to lower the jack.
4. Lift the vehicle until the tyre is a few centimetres above the ground.
5. Change tyres and tighten the wheel nuts.
6. Lower the vehicle and check the wheel nuts with the socket spanner and
re-tighten if necessary.
Tip:
When changing tyres, it is easier to loosen the wheel nuts before the vehicle is lifted.
Care and maintenance
• Clean the product by wiping it with a soft dry cloth.
• Never use abrasive cleaning agents or solvents.
• Store the jack in a clean and dry place.
• The jack should be stored in an upright position with the base plate at the bottom.
Troubleshooting
Problem: The jack does not work despite it being connected to the vehicle’s
12 V socket.
Solution: Some vehicles have the 12 V socket connected to the ignition and have no
power when the ignition is off. Turn the ignition switch up a position and try again.
If the power switch’s LED is not lit, then the socket has no power running to it.
Problem: The jack stops working after a while.
Solution: Make sure that the 12 V socket fuse and the plug’s* fuse are both whole.
The fuse should have a 15 A min rating for this jack. Make sure that any other loads
running through the ignition are turned off e.g. radio, fans, etc.
Problem: The jack will not go down.
Solution: Depress
U
on the power switch for about 2 seconds and then press
D
to
lower the jack.
*The jack’s plug contains a fuse (5 x 20 mm).
Unscrew the front metal piece on the plug
and remove the fuse. Check and replace it
with a new fuse if it is broken.
