User Instructions
Selecting a channel
The baby monitor has two preset channels. Both units are set to
channel 1 and do not need to be changed if there is no interference
from other devices.
If you need to change the channel because of interference,
remember to change the channel on both units. The controls
are located on right side of both units.
Placement
The units can be placed in two different ways.
1. On a flat surface.
2. Hung on the wall using the fastening hole on the back
of the units.
3. The belt clip can be used when you need to move between rooms.
Important:
• Keep the sender out of reach of the baby, but not farther than
three metres.
• Do not place the unit so that it is exposed to moisture or heat.
Baby Unit (sender)
Power button
Turn the monitor on by turning the SENSITIVITY dial. The green
LED lights when the sender is on and functioning.
Adjusting the sensitivity
Adjust the sensitivity (the sound level which triggers the sender) by
turning the SENSITIVITY dial. The red LED lights when the sender
is activated.
Parent Unit (receiver)
Power button
Turn on the monitor by turning the VOLUME control dial. The green
LED lights when the receiver is on and functioning.
Volume control
Adjust the volume with the VOLUME dial.
LED sound monitor
The receiver is equipped with 5 LEDs which light according to
the sound level in your baby’s room. The louder the sound, the
more LEDs are lit. Useful when the receiver is used in a noisy
environment as it also gives you a visual warning.
Range
The indoor range is 30-50 metres, depending on battery strength
and the number of obstructions, such as walls and furniture.
When the maximum range is exceeded, inference becomes more
apparent. If interference is heard of if the signal is weak, reduce the
distance between the units.
If you need to change the channel because of interference, change
both units to channel 2.
Useful Tips
In certain houses/flats battery operation can cause the range to
decrease, for exampled in houses/flats with reinforced concrete.
Since battery operation gives off a lower voltage it is recommended
that the power adaptors are used in the home.
The range also decreases when one unit is used indoors and
the other outdoors. Increase the volume on the parent unit to
compensate for the weaker signals.
Important:
Even if the units are on different channels the signal can still
be heard if the distance is not more than 10 metres. However,
for safety and effectiveness check that both units use the same
channel.
Testing
It is important to regularly thoroughly test your monitor’s
functionality.
Troubleshooting
Problem
Possible Cause
Remedy
The green LED
does not light.
The unit has no
power.
Make sure that the adaptor
is working and is properly
connected.
If using batteries, make
sure they are not weak
and are properly inserted.
The receiver has
feedback.
The units are too
close to each
other.
The volume control
on the sender is
set too high.
Place the units at least
3 m away from each other.
Decrease the receiver
volume.
The receiver
captures audio
from another
source.
Your neighbour
could have a
similar monitor
which uses the
same frequency.
Change the channel on
both devices.
The background
noise is too high.
The signal is too
weak because
of the units’
placement
or furniture
positioning.
Use the adaptor to ensure
the strongest possible
signal.
Try placing the sender in
an alternative location.
Place the receiver in an
alternate location and if
possible use the power
adaptor.
Strange sounds
are heard when
the sender is
turned off.
Household
appliances or
other devices can
interfere with the
signal.
Change the channel on
both devices.
Place the receiver so far
away as possible from the
source of interference.
Proper placement of
the receiver can reduce
interference and still give
good reception.
