CONNECT THE DELIVERY HOSE

WARNING: DISCONNECT THE PUMP FROM THE MAINS POWER SUPPLY
BEFORE CONNECTING THE DELIVERY HOSE

The pumps  outlet connecter  is provided with a 2” BSP Male thread, for
connection to a suitable adapter (not provided). It is advisable to seal the
thread with PTFE, or similar tape, to ensure maximum performance from your
pump.

Where it is necessary for long horizontal stretches of delivery hose to be used,
the hose ID should be greater than that of the delivery outlet.

NOTE: When the pump is used in a permanent or semi-permanent

installation, a check valve MUST be fitted in the  delivery pipe.

NOTE: Suitable hoses are available from your Clarke dealer.

LOCATING THE PUMP

1

Tie a rope to the lifting handle of the pump and lower the pump on a flat
surface in the area that you want to drain.

• If there is sediment in the operating area, the pump should be

placed on house bricks, or similar.

• Ensure the pump is positioned with adequate space so that the

movement of the float switch is not restricted.

NOTE: The symbol

on the pumps’ Rating Plate, denotes the

MAXIMUM depth to which the pump may be submerged, in
metres.

• The pump should be well clear of silt, mud or any type of marine

growth.

• Take all necessary precautions as described on page 4 before

plugging in, and switching ON.

WARNING: NEVER CARRY THE PUMP USING THE MAINS POWER CABLE.
DAMAGE TO ELECTRICAL CABLES CAN BE DANGEROUS. ALWAYS USE THE
LIFTING HANDLE OR A ROPE ATTACHED TO THE LIFTING HANDLE WHEN
MOVING THE PUMP.
