Configuring E-mail Settings
You can configure the Cisco RV215W to send event logs, new firmware alerts and
3G alerts by e-mail. We recommend that you set up a separate e-mail account for
sending and receiving e-mail alerts.
To configure e-mail settings:
STEP 1
Choose
Administration
>
Logging
>
E-mail Settings
.
STEP 2
In the
E-mail Alert Configuration
section:

To enable sending 3G alerts by e-mail, check the
3G E-mail Alert Enable
check box.

To enable sending logs by e-mail, check the
E-mail Logs
Enable
check
box
.
Ensure that you have set severity for the events that you want to log.
For more information, see
Configuring Logging Settings
. The
Minimum
E-mail Log Severity
field displays the severity of logs that you want to
capture. To change log severity, click
Configure Severity
.
In the
Send E-mail Logs by Schedule
section, choose if you want to send
Hourly
,
Daily
, or
Weekly
. If you choose
Never
, logs are not sent. If
you chose a weekly schedule, choose the day of the week to e-mail the
logs. If you chose a daily or weekly schedule, choose the time of day
when the device must e-mail the logs.
STEP 3
In the
E-mail Settings
section, enter the following information to configure settings
for your e-mail alerts:
E-mail Server Address
Enter the address of the SMTP server. This is the
mail server associated with the e-mail account that
you have setup (for example,
mail.companyname.com).
E-mail Server Port
Enter the SMTP server port. If your e-mail provider
requires a special port for email, enter it here.
Otherwise, use the default (25).
Return E-mail Address
Enter the return e-mail address that the
Cisco RV215W will send messages to if alerts sent
from the router are not delivered to the Send-to e-
mail address.
