Mounting the Chassis (Supplemental Ground not
required) in a Frame Installation
Note:
A supplemental ground connection is required for 3916 DC
Standard installations. The supplemental ground connection is optional for
3916 AC Standard and 3916 Dual AC Standard installations. A
supplemental ground connection is not required or available for mini
chassis systems. For systems that require a supplemental ground
connection see
“Mounting the Chassis and Installing Supplemental
Ground in a Frame Installation” on page 2-22
for a procedure.
The following procedure explains how to mount the chassis when the 3916 is
installed in a frame.

Mount the chassis in the desired installation location, using the installed
brackets and customer supplied mounting hardware. See
Mounting Brackets for a 19-inch Frame Installation” on page 2-18
for detailed
instructions.
Note:
The 3916 comes with the brackets required for mounting in a 19-inch
frame. A 23-inch frame mounting option is available but requires separately
orderable brackets. The mounting instructions for both bracket sizes are the
same.
You have mounted the 3916. You are now ready to proceed with
installing the Cable Support Brackets. See
