The grounding lug and grounding wire are customer supplied. The following
description indicates the required specifications:
•
Ground wire (#6 AWG minimum)
•

Power Cabling
The 3916 is available as an AC or DC powered device. For both systems, the
power cord will be dressed to the left. It is not appropriate to dress the power
cord to the right, across the front of the 3916 chassis.
Installing Power to a 3916 AC System
Four 3916 systems with AC power exist:
•
3916 AC Standard (170-3916-900) with a single integrated front fixed AC
power supply
•
3916 Dual AC Standard (170-3916-902) with two integrated front fixed AC
power supplies
•
3916 AC Mini (170-3916-904) with a single integrated front fixed AC
power supply
•
3916 Dual AC Mini (170-3916-906) with two integrated front fixed AC
power supplies
All of these systems use standard AC power cords. However, the cord
retention mechanism differs between standard and mini chassis systems.
Note:
The use of an external Surge Protective Device (SPD) is required
to meet GR-1089 Type 7 port requirements.
On standard chassis systems, a power cord retention clip is installed to help
avoid accidentally unplugging the power cord from the unit. However, since
plug configurations vary around the world, you will need to order a cord with
WARNING
Make sure to attach the grounding cable to the chassis before
powering on the system.
