Basic Dialing
How to Dial Phone
Each extension is granted dialing permission by the phone system administrator. System
administrators can permit or restrict dialing on phones for local, long distance, international
and toll free. If dialing access is turned off then the phone will dial and receive internal
extensions, call the emergency number and receive external calls only. Please see
Dial Plan
for more information on setting up permissions.
Extensions- Same Office
To dial another extension simply dial the extension and press the “Dial” button.
Extensions- Remote Office
If multiple offices with their own RevolutionPBX servers are connected simply add the
“remote office” extension before the extension you wish to dial. Your system administrator
can provide you with a list of both remote office extensions and phone extensions.
Example:
You are in the New York office but need to call the London office. Both offices have
their own RevolutionPBX system but they are linked with Remote Office. London has a
remote office extension of 5 and you need to reach Paul at extension 234 in London.
To dial Paul in London from New York simply dial 5234 and press dial. This will connect
you to Paul’s extension in London.
Local
To dial local phone numbers simply enter the phone number and press Dial. Local areas
differ depending on where you are - within the US and Canada some areas require 7 digits to
dial and some require adding in the area code making it 10 digits.. Consult your administrator
for local calling details.
Example:
Local call in Phoenix would be dialed as:
522-2114 then press DIAL
