Guide Bar and Saw Chain running hot
and smoking.
1. Chain tension too tight.
2. Chain Oil Tank empty.
1. Re-adjust Chain Tensioning Screw
to lesson tension on Chain.
2. Refill Chain Oil Tank.
Engine runs, but Saw Chain is not
rotating.
1. Chain tension too tight.
2. Damaged Guide Bar and/or Chain.
3. Worn clutch.
1. Re-adjust Chain Tensioning Screw
to lesson tension on Chain.
2. Have a qualified service technician
repair or replace Guide Bar and/or
Chain.
3. Replace clutch.
Chain rotates while Engine is at idle.
1. Engine idle speed set too high.
1. Have a qualified service technician
reset Carburetor idle adjustment
screws to lower idle (RPM) speed.
Stop Switch does not turn off Engine.
1. Defective Stop Switch.
1. Immediately remove Spark Plug
Cap from Spark Plug to stop Engine.
Discontinue using Chain Saw until a
qualified service technician can repair
or replace Stop Switch.
