Ac Applications
Before connecting an appliance or power cord to the generator: Make sure that it
24.
is in good working order. Faulty appliances or power cords can create a potential
for electrical shock.
If an appliance begins to operate abnormally, becomes sluggish or stops suddenly,
25.
turn it off immediately. Disconnect the appliance, and determine whether the
problem is the appliance, or if the rated load capacity of the generator has been
exceeded.
Make sure that the electrical rating of the tool or appliance does not exceed that of
26.
the generator. Never exceed the maximum power rating of the generator. Power
levels between rated and maximum may be used for no more than 30 minutes.
Substantial overloading will open the circuit breaker. Exceeding the time limit for
27.
maximum power operation or slightly overloading the generator may not switch
the circuit breaker or circuit protector OFF, but will shorten the service life of the
generator.
Always keep fuel tank capped, even when empty, to prevent rainwater, dirt and
28.
debris from getting into the fuel tank.
Maintain labels and nameplates on the Generator and Engine. These carry
29.
important information. If unreadable or missing, contact Harbor Freight Tools for a
replacement.
Generator service must be performed only by qualified repair personnel. Service
30.
or maintenance performed by unqualified personnel could result in a risk of injury.
When servicing a generator, use only identical replacement parts. Follow
31.
instructions in the “Inspection, Maintenance, and Cleaning” section of this manual.
Use of unauthorized parts or failure to follow maintenance instructions may create
a risk of electric shock or injury.
