3. Slowly lower the hood, and release it
when the hood front edge is about
30 cm from the closed position.
4. Always confirm that the engine hood is
locked in place.
Caution
The following precautions must be
observed:

Before driving, pull the front edge of
the engine hood to make sure the
engine hood is securely locked.

Do not pull the engine hood release
handle when the vehicle is in motion.
.
Do not drive the vehicle with the hood
open. An open hood will obstruct
driver vision.
Driving with an open hood could lead to
collisions that will damage your vehicle
and other property and cause casualties.
Liftgate
Liftgate Release Switch
The liftgate release switch is above the
liftgate release handle.
Before driving, make sure the liftgate is
closed and locked.
Caution
Driving with an open and unsecured
liftgate may result in damage to the
power liftgate components.
Liftgate Opening
The liftgate can be opened three ways:

Unlock the doors first, and then press the
liftgate release switch.

Press the liftgate open button

on
the RKE transmitter for about
two seconds.

For vehicles equipped with passive entry
passive start (PEPS) system, press the
liftgate release switch.

Warning
You or others could be injured if caught
in the path of the power liftgate. Make
sure there is no one in the way of the
liftgate as it is opening and closing.
To lock the liftgate, close it before locking it.
Be sure that no one is near the closing
range of the liftgate.
