A lighting set that corresponds to the regulations
is a must on public roads. Turn on the lights as
soon as dusk sets in.
For more information see the chapter “Legal re-
quirements for riding on public roads” of your
comprehensive original CENTURION user man-
ual on the enclosed CENTURION CD-ROM.
11. In case you have a CENTURION pedelec with
suspension, press down on your CENTURION
pedelec and see whether the spring elements
retract and extend as usual
(a)
.
For more information see the chapters “Sus-
pension forks”, “Rear shocks” and “Suspen-
sion seat posts” in this translation of the original
CENTURION operating instructions as well as in
your comprehensive original CENTURION user
manual and in the instructions of the component
manufacturers on the enclosed CENTURION
CD-ROM.
12. If your bike has a kickstand, make sure it is fully
raised
(b)
before you set off. Risk of an accident!
13. Do not forget to take a high quality D-
(c)
or chain
lock with you on your ride. The only way to effec-
tively protect your CENTURION pedelec against
theft is to lock it to an immovable object. It is also
recommended to always remove the recharge-
able battery, the drive HMI or the command
console or the display from the CENTURION
pedelec.
G
Improperly closed fastenings, e.g.
quick-releases, can cause parts of your
CENTURION pedelec to come loose.
This can result in a serious accident!
G
Be aware that the distance you need to
stop your pedelec increases, when you
are riding with your hands on bar ends
or on multi-position handlebars. The brake levers
are not always within easy reach.
G
Do not use your CENTURION pedelec, if
it fails on one these points! Riding a de-
fective CENTURION pedelec can result
in serious accidents! If you are in doubt or if you
have any questions, contact your CENTURION
dealer.
G
During use your CENTURION pedelec
is undergoing stress resulting from the
surface of the road and from the rider’s
action. Due to these dynamic loads, the different
parts of your pedelec react with wear and fatigue.
Please check your CENTURION pedelec regular-
ly for wear marks, scratches, deformations, color
changes and any indication of cracking
(d)
. Com-
ponents which have reached the end of their ser-
vice life may break without previous warning. Let
your CENTURION dealer maintain and service
your CENTURION pedelec regularly. In cases of
doubt it is always best to replace components.
