2. INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
2.1) Preparation
(Ref. to Figs. 1 and 2)
The tool can be easily carried using either the handle or the shoulder strap (T) attached
to the rings (R and R1).
With the tool in the rest position proceed as follows:
– Select the appropriate die set for the connector.
– Insert the die (91) into the upper seat of the tool head (39) until it is locked by die/head
retaining pin (50). To ease die insertion, keep die/head release pin (49) depressed.
– Press the operating button (06) to advance the ram (41) 3-4 mm (0.11 - 0.16 in.) and
insert the die (90) into the seat on the ram until it is locked by die/ram retaining pin (85).
To ease this operation, keep die/ram release pin (88) depressed.
– Insert the conductor in the connector.
– Position the connector between the dies and ensure the correct location of the crimp
points.

2.2) Die advancement
Press the operating button (06) to ac-
tivate the motor-pump and advance the
lower die. This fi rst stage rapidly closes
the dies to the connector.
To halt the advancement, release the
operating button (06) and the motor
will cut out.
Make sure the dies are exactly posi-
tioned on the desired crimp point
otherwise re-open dies following
instructions as per § 2.5 and reposi-
tion the connector.
2.3) Compression
– By keeping operating button (06) pressed, the motor continues to operate: the tool will
automatically change over to the high pressure stage and the ram (41) will gradually
move forward until the two dies touch.
– It is recommended to continue pumping until the maximum pressure valve is activated
and a "click" is heard.
