2.4 Architecture
The Gateway interface, is a communication interface with
DS401 CANopen power source side connection. On this
line, the interface is the master node and the power source
is the slave node (Fig. 2.4).
Therefore the power source must be configured, from the
control panel, through the “CAN external Interface” func-
tion, in accordance to the
ROT1
rotary switch setting (par.
3.6).
The gateway interface is equipped with a CompactCom
Anybus module for the connection to the CNC robot
having corresponding fieldbus. On this line, the CNC
robot is the Master node and the Gateway interface is the
Slave node (Fig. 2.4).
For this line configuration see par. 3.8, 3.9, 3.10, 3.11, at
the end of the manual.

2.5 Digital Protocol
The fieldbus messages configuration (

) used in the CEBORA automated welding systems
is described in the following manuals, supplied with the
power sources:
−
MIG plants = cod. 3.300.362, rev. E or newer;
−
TIG plants = cod. 3.300.363, rev. F or newer.
In these manuals all signals exchanged between the weld-
ing system and the robot control are listed and described.

GATEWAY INTERFACE ART. 428
3.1 Providing composition
The Gateway interface, art. 428, is made up by the com-
munication interface (25)
A
, Anybus module
B
and CAN-
open cable (4)
C
(Fig. 3.1).
Depending on the CNC robot communication protocol,
the Anybus module changes and the interface takes the
following codification:
Fieldbus
Interface code
Profibus
428.01
DeviceNet
428.02
EtherCAT
428.03
EtherNet/IP
428.04
The Gateway interface art. 428xx is supplied by Cebora
along with the dedicated Anybus module
B
already assem-
bled in the
A
communication Interface.
The CANopen
C
cable (4), 1.5 m long, is pre-assembled
with a 10-poles female panel connector, and with a 5 poles
Phoenix connector for the interface connection. The Gate-
way interface is connected to the power source can bus via
the signal cable (3) (not supplied with the interface).
