5.2 Program an intermittent sampling.
The intermittent sampling is used to avoid the sampling media saturation over a long period .
Example
We want to evaluate the incidence of a particular compound in the particulate matter, heavy
metals for instance.
The survey do not require the daily determination of the particulate matter and the samples
analysis is complex and expensive, then the solution is having the minimum samples
amount extending the campaign over longer times.
In this case the intermittent option allows extending the sampling period over more days limiting
the effective sampling time to the effective sampling media capacity.
Practically the
Duration
of the sample can be set to
96h
, 4 days, but the effective sampling time is
limited to 24 hours.
To do this:
•
Set the duration to 96 hours and then select the sequential option.
•
The
Cycle
is automatically set equal to the
Duration
.
•
Intermittent pump ON
is the period in which the
instrument sample.
•
Intermittent pump OFF
is the period in which the
instrument is in pause.
