also indicates if an alert is enabled or disabled for each event. With Administrator or
Operator privilege level, user can enable or disable alerts and click the
Apply Changes
button. To activate all alert actions, check the
Global Alerting Enable
checkbox.
The following steps will show how to enable PEF from WebGUI:
Step 1. Log in to the LOM as Administrator to reach the WebGUI.
User will see the Platform Events page screen as

Step 2. From the Event Management tab, select “Platform Events”.
Step 3. Click the Global Alerting Enable to enable PEF first.
Step 4. Click the action for each Filter.
Step 5. Before finish the setting, Click “Apply Changes” button to save setting.

5.6.1.3 Trap Setting for Alert Destination
This page allows user to view event traps, which are similar to event alerts. With Administrator or Operator
privilege level, user can add destination addresses and enable/disable SNMP alerts when click

button. SNMP Traps are used by a management station to receive unsolicited data from the
embedded software. For systems with a large number of nodes, it may not be efficient for a management
station to poll each controller for every condition that may occur. Example event traps could help a
management station with load balancing between nodes or by issuing an alert if an authentication failure
occurs.
