To connect to a computer

Be sure to turn off the digital piano and your computer
before connecting them. You should also set the
volume controller of the digital piano to a relatively
low volume.

Connect the digital piano’s MIDI interface
to your computer’s MIDI interface.

Turn on the digital piano, and then turn on
your computer or other connected device.

Start up the software you want to use on
your computer.

NOTE

• Performing a digital piano operation while

transferring data between it and a computer may
interrupt the data transfer. Do not perform any
digital piano operations while data transfer is in
progress.

To install the SMF Converter

1

On the computer to which you plan to
connect, install the SMF Converter that
comes on the CD-ROM that comes
bundled with the digital piano.

• On the CD-ROM, double-click “SMFConv-

e.exe”, and then follow the instructions that
appear on your computer screen to install SMF
Converter.

Before installing SMF Converter, be sure to read the
contents of the “smfreadme.txt” file in each language
folder on the CD-ROM.

For information about using SMF Converter, double-
click  “index.html” in the [help] folder, which was
created when you installed SMF Converter. You can
also access user documentation from the Windows
[Start] menu by clicking [Programs] - [CASIO] - [SMF
Converter] - [manual].

A browser that supports frames (like Internet Explorer 4
or Netscape Navigator 4.04 or higher) is required to view
the SMF Converter manual.
