Cleaning & Maintenance
-
It is important to ‘self clean’ the iron on a regular basis to remove any scale.
-
Fill the iron half full with water and stand it in the upright position.
-
Set the temperature control to MAX, plug into a kitchen socket and switch on.
-
Allow the iron to come up to temperature before switching off and removing the
plug from the socket.
-
Take the iron to the sink and hold in a horizontal position over the sink.
-
Turn the steam control knob to self-clean. The knob will pop up slightly and lift out
and remove the steam control knob.
-
Hot water and steam will now come out of the steam holes in the sole plate
washing out impurities and scale.
-
When water reservoir is empty, replace the steam control knob and move to the no
steam position.
-
Allow the iron to cool completely before removing residues on the sole plate with a
soft cloth soaked in a vinegar / water solution.
-
The iron housing can be cleaned with a soft damp cloth and then wiped dry. Do not
use detergent or abrasives as these may scratch the surface.
Storage
-
Switch off and unplug the iron.
-
Empty any water remaining in the water into the sink.
-
Stand the iron in the upright position and allow the iron to cool completely
before storing.
NOTE:
Do not put vinegar or other descaling solutions into the water reservoir.
