(ENG) AQUARIUM INSTRUCTIONS
PLEASE READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE USING THIS PRODUCT AND SAVE THIS
MANUAL FOR FUTURE USE.
DANGER
OF
ELECTROCUTION
IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Having water and electrical systems close together is always potentially risky. An electrical accident whilst you have your hands in
the fish tank could lead to electrocution. In order to protect yourself from shocks you should disconnect the aquarium and all electrical
devices connected to it from the mains power supply before you make contact with the water.
IMPORTANT: The appliance must be connected to an electrical wiring installed safely and correctly in accordance with national
standards. Installation of a residual current operated circuit breaker appreciably increases the safety level of the electric installation and
of the people using it.
When using electric appliances, basic precautions should always be followed, including the following:
Use the appliance only for the intended use. We decline all responsibility for all damages arising from any improper use of the
aquarium and its accessories.
This product has been designed, manufactured for domestic indoor use only.
Make sure that all the electrical connections have been done according to the manufacturer’s instructions and that all internal
visible devices are in their corresponding slots.
Before using the aquarium, check that the mains power voltage corresponds to the voltage shown on the rating plate.
Do not switch on the aquarium before having filled it up with water.
We suggest you connect the aquarium to a multiple outlet power strip incorporating surge protection.
Do not handle electrical equipment with wet hands..
Always unplug the appliance before performing any maintenance or cleaning.
If the appliance is not in use, it must be unplugged. Do not unplug by pulling on cord. To unplug, grasp the plug, not the cord.
Do not use with damaged cord or plug.
Keep the packing materials far from direct sunlight or from other heating sources or primer sources such as fuel. Keep it out of
reach of children.
Close supervision of children is required when this aquarium is in use.
Repairs should be carried out by skilled personnel to avoid any hazards.
For the pump and the heater (if supplied), please refer to the specific instruction booklets of the manufacturer, contained inside
the aquarium.
Allow your aquarium cord(s) to drop slightly below the outlet and then curve upwards to the plug(s). This is the
"drip-loop" (see illustration) and will prevent water from travelling down the cord and directly into the electrical
outlet. If the plug or receptacle does get wet, DON’T unplug the cord. Disconnect the circuit breaker that supplies
power to the appliance. Then unplug and examine for presence of water in the receptacle.
Once you have removed the packing material, check the integrity of your fish tank.
For a correct functioning, follow the maintenance schedule.
First of all, fill your tank with water to check for any leaks. When you are sure your aquarium is watertight, siphon out the water.
In case you notice water leaks or water in the plastic bottom of the aquarium, empty the tank and apply to the seller.
Checking for leaks before setting the aquarium up can prevent significant damage and losses.
WARNING!
DISCONNECT FROM MAINS POWER SUPPLY BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO REPLACE
LAMPS OR BEFORE CLEANING OR SERVICING.
SETTING UP THE AQUARIUM
Before setting up your aquarium, select a proper location for your new aquarium, taking into account that a full aquarium should
not be moved. You should place the aquarium somewhere near an electrical outlet and far away from direct sunlight or other heating
sources (such as stoves, radiators etc.); this way it will avoid overheating and the formation of algae. We suggest not to place it where
possible water escape could cause damage. You will also need a stand which can support the weight of the tank. The stand needs to be flat
on the top. The aquarium should be placed on an sturdy support, specifically made for holding aquariums.
