Automatic Defrost
When operating in cool conditions (temperatures less than 18 deg.
C.) humidity which condensate on the refrigerated coils turns to ice.
If the unit is left running, the ice will completely form over the coils
and reduce the dehumidification capacity to almost zero. The
dehumidifier is specially equipped with a defrost timer which
enables the refrigeration coils to be defrosted once per hour. This
timer turns off the compressor, thereby eliminating the refrigeration
on the coils. The fan continues to draw air over the coils causing
the ice to melt and drop down into the reservoir. This defrost system
allows the unit to function to a temperature as low as 5 Deg.C.
Dust Guard
A rear panel with a foam filter prevents dust from clogging the
refrigeration coils. This filter should be cleaned monthly with a
vacuum cleaner attachment or washed with a mild detergent in
warm water. The filter panel is easily removed by flexing it outward
in the centre , freeing the tabs in the sides of the panel. It is
important to keep the air filter clean to facilitate the air flow. A
clogged filter could cause overheating of the unit.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Always disconnect the dehumidifier from the mains before cleaning.
When your dehumidifier requires cleaning, use the vacuum cleaner
attachment or brush to clean the front grille. The air drying coil is best
cleaned with a cloth and hot water and the dust guard filter can be
washed or vacuumed. The motor is permanently lubricated and does not
require oiling.
If Your Dehumidifier Fails To Operate
1. Check if the power is coming to the unit. (Check plug and fuse)
2. Check if the float is hanging freely and the water reservoir positioned
normally.
3. Check if the humidistat is turned clockwise
4. Check if the bucket is empty and the full light is”off”.
5. Check if all operating instructions have been followed.
