5.4 Exhaust System

The exhaust system for each engine consists of an exhaust manifold,

exhaust piping, a muffler and the exhaust pipe used to vent the exhaust

to the atmosphere. If the exhaust system contains leaks or obstructions,

or has any other problem that prevents it from venting exhaust properly,

carbon monoxide may escape and endanger you and your passengers.

Check the exhaust system regularly for proper operation. Any change in

engine noise could indicate an exhaust system problem and should be

immediately investigated.
