Eliminating the cause of problems
The model does not
move
Check whether the transmitter and the
receiver are switched on;
Switch transmitter and/or receiver on
Check the battery voltage of transmitter and
receiver;
Employ completely charged batteries
Check whether transmitter and receiver
frequency agree;
Possibly exchange the crystal
The trim slider of the pitch-function stands
on the upper stop;
Ensure that the trim slider of the pitch
function is in neutral position or some-
what below.
Motor does not turn;
Motor is defective;
Exchange the motor
Motor is too hot;
Allow the motor to cool down
Connection of rotor head and motor is
loose;
Fasten the rotor head
The model reacts incorrectly to
the control commands or
ß
ies
choppily;
Check the state of the transmitter and re-
ceiver battery charges;
Employ completely charged batteries
Transmitter antenna not completely with-
drawn;
Extend the transmitter antenna totally
Receiver antenna still wound up;
Unwind the receiver antenna completely
Interference;
Make certain that there is no frequency
superposition by other transmitters and
no atmospheric disturbances
The model does not take off;
Rotor blades are twisted;
Exchange the rotor blades
Motor is too hot;
Allow the motor to cool down
Batteries are empty;
Charge the batteries or exchange them
The rotors do not allow shut
down;
Trim is not correctly adjusted;
Correct the trim on the pitch controller
Rotor blades are defective;
Replace one or both rotor blades
Motor is defective.
Rotate the motor by hand in order to
ensure that it permits smooth rotation
and makes no unusual noises.
Replace the motor
The model moves forwards/
backward and sidewise, but
does not hover;
Check whether the helicopter is exposed to
a draught, e.g. by an opened window or an
air conditioner. Hover
ß
ight is not possible
when there is a draught;
Close the window / door, switch off the
air conditioner or select a more suitable
room
The model vibrates severely;
Check whether the principal rotors run true; Possibly balance the rotor blades
Check whether the model is correctly bal-
anced
The tail does not permit stabi-
lizing;
One or more rotor blades are defective;
Replace one or both rotor blades
Lower and upper rotor revolution run with
different friction on the rotor shaft;
Ensure that both rotor revolutions allow
for easy rotation
The velocity of rotation of the upper and
lower rotor revolution is uneven;
Exchange the motor
Correct the trim on the transmitter
