Installation Instructions

Part No. CRHEATER136A00 through CRHEATER143A00

SAFETY CONSIDERATIONS

Installation and servicing of air-conditioning equipment

can be hazardous due to system pressure and electrical com-
ponents. Only trained and qualified service personnel should
install, repair, or service air-conditioning equipment.

Untrained personnel can perform basic maintenance func-

tions of cleaning coils and filters and replacing filters. All
other operations should be performed by trained service per-
sonnel. When working on air-conditioning equipment, ob-
serve precautions in the literature, tags and labels attached
to the unit, and other safety precautions that may apply.

Follow all safety codes. Wear safety glasses and work gloves.

Use quenching cloth for unbrazing operations. Have fire ex-
tinguishers available for all brazing operations.

Before performing service or maintenance operations on
unit, turn off main power switch to unit. Electrical shock
could cause personal injury.

INSTALLATION

NOTE:

A minimum ductwork clearance of 1 in. is re-

quired for the first 24 in. of ductwork on 15 to 25 ton units
with electric heat.

1. Turn off power to the unit.
2. Remove control box access panel and electric heater ac-

cess panel. See Fig. 1.

3. Remove cover plates from both ends of electric heater

compartment and save screws.

4. Install heater track from accessory package into heater

compartment to facilitate installation of heater assem-
