Operating conditions

• Temperature ranges suitable for unit operation are as follows.

• If the unit operates beyond the max. temperature conditions for a

long time, system diagnostics may detect a malfunction and the
unit will not operate properly.

• If the unit operates under abnormal conditions for a long time with

extremely high humidity, condensed water may drip from the unit.

Minimum operation time

• In normal operation, there is a minimum operation time of 3

minutes between the compressor turning on and turning back off.

Heating features

• At unit start up in heating mode, there will be a preheating period

of about 5 minutes before the unit is ready to deliver warm air.

• During this period the preheating-defrost LED is ON, indicating

preheating.

• When the outdoor temperature is too low, the heating capacity will

be reduced; in this case add another heater appliance to provide
sufficient heating capacity.

Defrost operation

• At outdoor temperatures below 7

°

C, frost may form on the outdoor

unit coil which makes periodic defrosting necessary.

• The defrost time will last from 5 to 10 minutes; during this period

the preheating-defrost LED is ON, indicating the defrosting status.

Power supply failure

If a power supply failure happens during operation, the unit stops
completely.

• When the power supply is restored, the indoor unit operating LED

starts flashing at 1 second intervals.

• To restart the unit, press start button

 on the remote control.

• Mobile telephones or other small appliances operating near the air

conditioner may disrupt its operation. In this case turn the unit
main power switch OFF and ON.

• To restart the unit, press start button

 on the remote control.

Operating priority

It is not possible to operate the indoor units in various rooms in a
different mode. If the operating mode of a unit in one room is
different from the one located in another room, the unit activated
first is given priority.

Normal operation

Any of the following can occur during normal operation:

• Sometimes a gurgling sound can be heard during operation or

when the unit stops.
- This is the sound of the refrigerant flowing through the unit.

• Bad odours are emitted from the unit.

- Odours such as smoke or cosmetics can accumulate as the

room air circulates through the unit.

- Cleaning the filters will reduce this problem.
- The unit is in defrost mode.

• A crackling sound can sometimes be heard during operation or

when the unit is turned ON.
- This is the sound of plastic expanding due to on abrupt

temperature change.
