μPC is a microprocessor-based electronic controller developed by CAREL in compliance with the European
RoHS directives. It provides a solution for many applications in the air-conditioning and refrigeration sectors
and ensures absolute versatility, allowing specifi c products to be created on customer request. μPC runs
the control program, and is fi tted with the set of terminals required for the connection to the devices
(compressors, fans…). The parameters are saved to E2prom, ensuring they are stored even in the event of
power failures (without requiring a backup battery).
The application can be loaded using a PC or the special programming key. The control also allows connection
to the serial bus and can be connected to all the pGD family terminals.
The embedded driver for single-pole stepper electronic expansion valve guarantees best performance of
the cooling circuit thanks to PID superheat control. Finally, the μPC off ers the possibility of connection to the
room terminal for monitoring and controlling the room temperature.

•
Power supply available
- 230 Vac: UPCA******
- 24 Vac: UPCB******
1.2 Power supply
•
230 Vac version
The power supply to the μPC controller and terminal should be separated from the power supply to the
other electrical devices (contactors and other electromechanical components) inside the electrical panel.
The internal transformer ensures double insulation between the instrument and the high voltage power
line.
•
24 Vac/Vdc version
A Class 2 safety transformer with a minimum rating of 25 VA must be used in the installation to supply
just one controller. The power supply to the μPC controller and terminal (or μPC controllers and terminals)
should be separated from the power supply to the other electrical devices (contactors and other
electromechanical components) inside the electrical panel. If the secondary of the transformer is earthed,
make sure that the earth wire is connected to terminal G0. This is true for all the devices connected to the
μPC.
