Self-Help Guide
If a system trip occurs, you can find out what has happened by counting the number of
blinks that are flashing on the battery gauge.
Below is a list of self-help actions. Check this before contacting CareCo. Check the
number in the list that matches the number of flashing bars and follow the instructions.
If the problem persists after you have made the checks described, contact CareCo

1 blink
The batteries need charging or there is a bad
connection. Check the connection – if this is good then
charge
the batteries.
2 blinks
The left hand motor has a bad connection. Check
the connections to the left hand motor.
3 blinks
The left hand motor has a short circuit to a battery
connection. Contact CareCo Customer Service.
4 blinks
The right hand motor has a bad connection. Check
the connections to the right hand module.
5 blinks
The right hand motor has a short circuit to a battery
connection. Contact CareCo Customer Service.
6 blinks
The power chair is being prevented from driving by an
external cause. The exact cause will depend on the
type of power chair you have; the battery charger may
be connected.
7 blinks
A joystick fault is indicated. Make sure that the
joystick is in the centre position before switching on
the control system.
8 blinks
A control system fault is indicated. Make sure that all
connections are secure.
9 blinks
The parking brakes have a bad connection. Check the
parking brake and motor connections. Make sure the
control system connections are secure
10 blinks
An excessive voltage has been applied to the control
system. This is usually caused by a poor battery
connection. Check the battery connections.
