To avoid risk of fires, electric shocks, accidents or overexposure to microwave energy, the important
safety instructions must be followed when using the appliance.
IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
• The oven must not be placed in a cabinet.
• Never try to replace parts or repair the appliance yourself. For
repair, always send all electrical appliances to an authorised workshop.
A faulty repair can put the user’s safety in danger. It also voids the
warranty.
• Before using the appliance, check that the supply from the power
outlet matches that stated on the appliance’s rating pate.
• Connect the appliance only to an alternating-current, earthed power
outlet protected by a residual current device.
• The power cable must not be routed across sharp edges.
• Use only original parts for the appliance.
• Always pull the plug out of the power outlet: when the appliance is
not being used; before fitting or removing parts; and, before cleaning
the appliance.
• If the fuse or the residual current device trips, the appliance must not
be restarted.
• Do not dip the cable or the motor unit in water. This can cause
electric shocks.
• To avoid danger through the thermal cut-out accidentally switching
the appliance back on, this appliance must not be connected to mains
power via an external connection device such as a timer. The appliance
must not be connected to a circuit that the user often switches on and
off.
• Regularly check the condition of the appliance and its power cable.
Do not use the appliance if you discover that it is damaged in any way.
If the power cable is damaged, there is the risk of receiving electric
shocks from the appliance. The microwave oven must not be used if the
door or the door’s seals are damaged. The appliance must be taken to
a service point that is authorised to repair electrical appliances.
• Under no circumstances whatsoever may the safety locking system be
taken apart or its operation changed.
• Do not place any object between the microwave oven’s body and the
oven door. Ensure that seal surfaces are free from dirt and the residues
of cleaning agents.
• Liquids and food must not be heated in closed vessels. This can
lead to a risk of explosion.
• It is dangerous to open and/or remove covers that protect
against microwave energy. This may only be done by a profes-
sional in this field.
• Use only vessels and tools that are suitable for microwave
ovens.
• The oven must be regularly and thoroughly cleaned to remove
all food residues. If the appliance is not kept clean, the condition
of its surfaces can be impaired and its service life shortened. This
can lead to hazardous situations.
• Owing to the risk of fire, pay particular attention when heating
food in plastic or paper vessels. Before putting them in the oven,
ensure that paper and plastic vessels/bags have any steel wires
and metal handles removed.
• Do not overheat food.
• If you notice smoke coming out of the oven, you must switch off
the appliance (or pull the plug out of the power outlet) and keep
the door closed to choke any flames.
• Install and position this oven only in accordance with the supp-
lied installation instructions.
• Hens’ eggs in their shells and whole boiled eggs in their shells
must not be warmed in the microwave oven as they may explode
(break apart with a bang) – even after heating in the oven has
stopped.
• Use this appliance only for the purpose stated in this user ma-
nual. Do not use corrosive chemicals or gases in this appliance.
This oven is designed to heat food. It is not designed for industrial
use or use in a laboratory.
• The appliance is designed for indoor use only. Do not keep or
use this appliance outdoors.
• Do not use this oven near water, in a damp basement or near a
swimming pool.
• The appliance’s surfaces can become hot during use. Ensure that
the power cable does not come into contact with the hot surfaces.
The oven’s ventilation openings must not be covered.
• Check that the power cable is not hanging over the edge of a
table or worktop.
• When heating baby food in a jar/pot or a feeding bottle,
the food must be mixed and the vessel thoroughly shaken after
heating. To avoid the risk of burns, the temperature must also be
checked.
• When a drink is heated using microwaves, it may only start
boiling after the vessel has already been removed from the micro-
wave oven. Be careful when handling the vessel.
