Compensating the Flash

When the shooting mode is set to

increments in the range of –2 to +2 stops.

You can combine the flash exposure
compensation with the camera’s exposure
compensation function to achieve creative effects
which compensate for background exposure.

(p. 72), the flash output can be controlled in three
steps, starting from FULL, when shooting. When
an externally mounted flash is attached, its flash
output can be controlled (From 1/1 (full power) to
1/64 in 1/3 steps).
