To Release the FE Lock:
Operate a button other than the control
dial.
In this mode, the camera automatically changes the exposure
within a set range to take three shots as the same interval as
continuous shooting (p. 44) after you press the shutter button once.
The images are shot in the following order: Standard exposure,
underexposure and overexposure.

Press the button and set it to
(flash on).

If you are using an externally mounted flash, please refer to
its manual for setting instructions.

Focus the camera on the subject on which
you wish to lock the exposure setting.

Press the shutter button halfway.

Press the
button.

The flash fires a pre-flash and the exposure is fixed.

Re-aim the camera to compose the shot as
desired and press the shutter button fully.
The FE lock function is not available when [Flash Adjust] is
set to [Manual] (p. 72).
