The CPU on the finisher controller PCB is provided with a function that monitors the
condition of the machine, communicating a fault it detects to the host machine by means of
a "code" and a "detail code." In response, the host machine indicates the code on its control
panel. (The detail code may be checked in the host machine's service mode.)
