1.2 Initialization Sequence Flowchart

The flowchart below shows the initialization process from when the printer is turned on
to when it goes online.

• The temperature sensor on the logic board

checks the machine temperature.

• Checks the waste ink counter in EEPROM.

Connect AC plug.

(Hardware power-on)

Software initialization

Press the POWER button.
(Softpower-on)

Paper feed

motor initialization

Cartridge detection

Automatic cleaning

• Connect the AC plug to the AC outlet.

• MPU and printer controller initialization
• ROM/RAM/EEPROM check

• Drives the paper feed motor drives.
• Sets the pickup roller and paper lifting plate to the
