SECTION THREE 

Fuel Bed Cleaning and Layout Cont. 

 

• 

Place  the  final  row  of  five  coals  bridging 
between the back and front row of coals to 
form  a final  top  layer  as  shown.  DO  NOT 
lay  any  further  coals or  pebbles  on  top of 
the burner area of the fire. 

 
 
 

 
 
 
 
 
 
 

FUEL BED LAYOUT (EXTRA COAL OPTION)

 

 

• 

An extra pack of 17 coals can be 
obtained to lay around the burner unit 
grille as shown. Leave plenty of air 
gaps between the coals to ensure that 
the cooling air flow to the underside of 
the burner is not impeded in any way. 
DO NOT place these coals on top of 
the combustion area of the burner. 

• 

The  finished  coal  arrangement  should 
look as shown. 

 
Note 

Dye is available for touching up coal 

surfaces  where  the  black  colouring  may 
have rubbed off in use.

 

 

 
FUEL BED LAYOUT (PEBBLE OPTION)

Place  6  pebbles  on  to  the  back  of  the 
granular burner bed material as shown.
