An approved resin cleaner MUST be used on a monthly basis if your water supply contains iron. The amount of resin cleaner and frequency of use is

SERVICING YOUR CONTROL VALVE
BEFORE SERVICING, YOU WILL NEED TO:
1.
Shut the water supply to the softener OFF, put the softener into the BYPASS position.
2.
Relieve water pressure in the softener by stepping the control into the backwash momentarily.
3.
Return the control to the SERVICE position.
4.
Unplug the electrical cord.
5.
Disconnect the drain line connection.
Always follow these steps prior to servicing the valve.

Unplug the unit before removing the cover or
accessing any internal control parts.

5.
Take off the small hole cover on
the brine well lid.
6.
Take off the cover of the Res care bottle. Insert the wick,
making sure it touches the bottom of the bottle. Insert
the other end of the tube completely into the hole in the
brine well cap. Automatic feeding will start in a few hours.
