Subsection 05 (BRAKES)

vmr2008-033-015_a

PULL BRAKE PAD PIN

Depress pistons into their bores.

CAUTION: It's very important to clean remain-
ing O.D. of pistons out from caliper with brake
fluid before pushing pistons back in. Make
sure the pistons are free of any contaminant
and are shiny.

Install

NEW

brake pads.

Install brake pad pin.

Tighten pin to 5 N•m (44 lbf•

in

).

Install caliper.

After the job is completed, firmly depress the
brake lever a few times to bring the pads in con-
tact with the disc.

Check brake fluid level in the front brake fluid
reservoir and top up if necessary.

Check for leaks and make sure the brakes operate
normally before driving. The pads must rest flat
on the disc.

Rear Brake Pads

Loosen brake pad screws.
