Solution:
1. Verify the Wintersense SDI-12 is wired correctly. See
NOTE:
Connect the power wire to the data logger 12V terminal and not the SW12 terminal.
2.
Verify
the
power
to
the
Wintersense SDI-12
is
in
the
appropriate
range
(6
to
18
VDC).
3.
Verify
the
correct
SDI-12
address
is
being
used
when
communicating
with
the
Wintersense
SDI-12.
Use
the
transparent
mode
to
verify
the
data
logger
can
communicate
with
the
it.

Symptom:
Measurement values are inconsistent or erratic.
Solution:
1. Verify that the sensor angle has not changed.
2. Check that obstructions, such as vehicles, are not in the field of view.
Symptom:
Temperature and relative humidity measurement values are -99.999.
Solution:
1. Check the sensor element is properly plugged in, with the correct orientation. See
the temperature and humidity element
(p. 18) for more information.
2. Check for water under the sensor element connector and ensure there is no corrosion of
the sensor pins or the socket.
