Modem
1. Introduction
The Redwing CDMA1X modem is a fu ll -dup l ex, digita l ce ll u l ar modem that
communicates with a base station PC via Code Division Mu l tip l e Access
(CDMA) network and Pub l ic S witched Te l ephone Network (P S TN). The
Redwing CDMA1X modem is for use on Be ll , A l iant, ManitobaTe l , and
S askTe l networks on ly .
2. Specifications
2.1 Base Station Requirements
x PC with Ha y es-compatib l e modem, running Campbe ll S cientific’s
LoggerNet or PC400 software.
x
S ubscription to Be ll , A l iant, ManitobaTe l , or S askTe l CDMA networks
with coverage at the data l ogger site.
2.2 Datalogger Site Equipment
x Redwing CDMA1X modem—inc l udes power cab l e; the modem is
configured using the H y pertermina l program prior to insta ll ation
x
Data l ogger—CR510, CR10(X), CR 2 3X, CR7, CR800, CR1000, CR5000,
or CR 2 XX
x
S C105 or S C93 2 A Interface—connects the modem to the CR510,
CR10(X), or CR7 data l oggers’ C S I/O port
x
L1439 2 Nu ll Modem Cab l e—connects the modem to the CR 2 3X, CR800,
CR1000, CR 2 XX, or CR5000 R S - 2 3 2 port
x
L14394 Redwing Mounting Kit—inc l udes mounting hardware for
securing the modem to be l ow referenced environmenta l enc l osure.
x
Antenna—the fo ll owing antennas are avai l ab l e from Campbe ll S cientific;
sites near the edge of the CDMA coverage ma y require the Yagi antenna.
