5.5 Troubleshooting, causes, solutions

Low battery
Recharge the battery (21)

Check the tool for proper connection to the bat-
tery (21).

Take the tool to a Service Centre authorised by
the Manufacturer.

Low battery
Recharge the battery (21).
The chain is not sharp
Sharpen or replace the chain (1).
The chain is too tight
Adjust the tension of the chain (1).
Insufficient lubrication
Top up the oil in the tank.
The chain stops
Chain improperly tensioned.
Adjust the tension of the chain (1).
Insufficient lubrication
Top up the oil in the tank.
The chain stutters while
cutting
The chain is worn out
Sharpen the chain (1).
The chain is damaged
Replace the chain (1).
Insufficient lubrication
Low oil level in the tank
Top up the oil in the tank through the cap.
The battery does not
charge fully
Degraded battery
Replace the battery (21).
Faulty battery charger
Replace the battery charger (23).
Unsuitable battery charger
Make sure the battery charger (23) is the one
supplied with the product.

6 MAINTENANCE
6.1 Routine maintenance
CAUTION!
•
Before carrying out any routine maintenance, switch off with the ON-OFF button (9), remove the battery (21)
from the tool and wear heavy-duty gloves.
•
All the maintenance operations which are not described in this manual have to be performed in Authorised
Service Centres.
The routine maintenance operations may be carried out by the operators.
6.1.1 Chain tension adjustment check
Periodically check the tension of the chain and adjust it if necessary, following the procedure shown in paragraph
4.1.2. The chain (1) has a tendency to expand or shrink when using the tool, changing its tension.
Do not tension the chain when it is elongated due to heat. Wait for it to cool down before adjusting it again.
IMPORTANT!
If the chain is new, it requires a break-in period during which its tension must be checked more often.
6.1.2 Check and replacement of the chain and/or cutting bar
NOTE!
Replace the
chain
when after sharpening it many times, the length of the tooth reaches 3-4 millimetres or
when the links of the chain are worn.
